Abstract

Findings showed that science teachers in Bicol Region, Philippines during the pandemic have found opportunities to improve their (1) content mastery through participation in seminars and professional networks, (2) designing effective teaching strategies that hone their creativity and inventiveness in learning modalities, and (3) venturing into innovation has allowed them to create assessment tools that reduce dishonesty and strengthen honest reflection of assessment results. The study concluded that the curriculum was unsuitable and that the Department was unprepared to implement distant learning, yet teachers earned opportunities for personal and professional growth as a result of their resilience, innovativeness, and resourcefulness.
